Building Executive Presence During a Time of Change

The Client

The client is a Head of School for a private school characterized by their unique approach to learning. The students are taught through an experience-based curriculum designed to help them develop to their full potential.

The Challenge 

In the midst of a difficult founder transition, our client wanted to focus on being an effective leader through change by building their communication skills and improving their executive presence with the Board and Faculty.

The Solution

We brought in an experienced coach to partner with the Head of School in identifying goals and gaps. The first coaching session focused on setting the foundation for a plan, including discovery questions and designing the coaching relationship. The client and coach met bi-weekly for 12 months to support their leadership progression, using proven leadership development tools throughout the process.

The Impact

As the coaching plan came to an end, the Head of School requested and received support from the Board of Directors to extend the coaching relationship for another year. The client improved self-awareness and reported more confidence and effectiveness with executive communications, influence, and leading change. On the heels of this relationships, school admissions went up, the founder transition managed extremely well, and faculty retention improved.
