The Client

The client is a national foods distributor who provides food and baked goods to over 400 restaurants in the United States.

The Challenge

The company was going through the process of transferring leadership across generations. As the successor took over for her father, they wanted to align the three separate divisions of the company to increase effectiveness and direct organizational efforts towards a common vision, strategy, and annual operating plan. The president asked us for help in two areas: provide business advisory services and leadership development services.

The Solution

Our team facilitated the development of the organization’s mission, vision, values, and strategic plan. In addition to the strategic plan, SBE provided an annual business cycle and helped the organization’s leaders in the development of an annual operating plan. The plan was supplemented with a leadership development road map, which included quarterly leadership workshops to ensure ongoing focus and execution on the operating plan.

The Impact

In partnership with the client, we delivered a strategic vision and annual operating plan for the organization to execute. Leaders and teams across the three divisions benefited from having a common goal and specific focus, producing targeted work in the precise direction needed to make the organization most profitable. Not only does the organization now have an annual planning process, it also has increased clarity around tracking both short and long-term goals.
