Bringing People Analytics to a Forward-Looking HR Operation

The Client

The company is a multinational resort operator with an employee base of several thousand.

The Challenge

The company had worked with Strong-Bridge Envision previously to implement a new HRIS, cleaning and converting employee data from legacy systems to the cloud. The next phase in the client’s HR technology transformation was to start a People Analytics program, with the goal of optimizing their HRIS investment and gaining visibility into data to improve HR shared services operations.

The Solution

We worked with the client to identify KPIs and employee demographics of interest. With these targets in mind, we worked with the client to identify the data sets to access. Using Power BI and R-Studio, we created a holistic view across resort properties with metrics that included average age by job function, employee tenures, gender pay differences, and organizational hierarchy network visuals. This level of understanding would not have been possible before the HRIS implementation.

Through this process, a People Analytics program framework was developed for future operational improvement projects such as attrition reduction, talent management, and workforce planning. This proof of concept was designed to result in minimal impact to HR resources already burdened with heavy workloads.

The Impact

Our data analytics team helped the client get the most from their HRIS investment, and laid the foundation for future People Analytics at the company.
